National Finals Scheduled on februray the 18th and 25th and on march the 4th, at 12.30, the 1979 selection was never broadcasted because of a large strike of the SFP technicians (Société Française de Production = French Production Compagny). The two semi finals have been recorded though but were never showed on TV. The host was Marc Menant, a sport journalist who became the french commentator for the ESC 79. For that reason a professionnal jury watched the two shows and choosed the song. The final placing is not kown.
